A mobile-first approach
As with most public-facing websites, mobile traffic to the existing site was very high and trending upwards. With this in mind, the new website was designed with a mobile-first approach. Strong emphasis on visual imagery immediately portrays the impressive facilities with stunning photography.

Intuitive icons were designed to navigate users quickly to the desired activity or event for further information and booking.
Prioritising the information that users want most
Folowing a public consultation headed by Green17 a number of key points were identified to guide the design and functionality required by site users. Priorities included quick and easy access to opening times, online booking, up to date information on facilities such as pool closures, and promotions for events and offers.

Appropriate FAQs added to each page for effective time-saving
Adding FAQs to appropriate pages was an effective time-saving measure for both Leisure Plex administrative staff and website users. The CMS ensures easy management of the FAQs for staff updating the site, with the ability to publish FAQ content to multiple website sections as required.

Content Management System
Green17 integrated a simple but powerful content management system which enabled the admin team to have one central login for editing. Green17 have provided the same CMS to several LCCC department websites and so this was a streamlined and cost-effective approach. Staff training was provided by Green17 and support manuals provided.

Connecting with visitors
A ‘call to action’ button encourages website users to sign up to receive emails containing exclusive content about offers, holiday opening times, competitions and more. Custom email templates and campaigns allow staff to quickly and efficiently engage users. Detailed information about email open rates is available to admin staff, and the option is provided to automatically test subject lines and content for future content planning.
