An engaging & fun bespoke design
There are 4 main Girlguiding groups within the UK including England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland which all share the same logo. It was important to promote brand consistency across the websites however the Girlguiding Ulster team requested a more original website design to give them an individual look and feel. Green17's design team worked to effectively strike this balance and the final site design had unanimous support from the Girlguiding Ulster team who found it the perfect solution to reflect their organisation.
Visual Categorisation through Colour
Visually separating Girlguiding Ulster's several groups was an important requirement, to ensure the website can provide a tailored experience to each group. Group uniform colours were used to categorise areas such as news, events and resources by colour (as well as unique landing pages for each group) to help participants quickly select the information relevant to them.
This colour coding design element also works effectively for parents exploring Girlguiding Ulster for the first time, who can quickly identify which group their child belongs to and all the relevant information provided to help influence their decision.
A Busy Events Hub
Girlguiding Ulster centres on running great events for children to learn new skills and meet new people. As such, a structured events section was required to promote these and make it easy for internal management to track the number of attendees participating in each event. Green17 designed and developed a new event section with e-commerce functionality which enables staff to set limits on event spaces, track event popularity and export lists of attendees at the touch of a button.
Easy Online Payments for Parents
Prior to website redevelopment, Girlguiding Ulster had no online payment facilities, meaning that parents had to physically visit during office hours to pay outstanding fees. A primary focus of this project was to make this process more convenient for parents - the new website enables them to make online payment for activities and trips at a time and date that best suits their busy schedules. It has also benefited the administration team at Girlguiding Ulster, whose accounts process has become increasingly streamlined and significantly less time-consuming as a result.
We have been working with Green17 over the last number of years to develop our web presence as a charitable organisation and residential centre. Green 17 are great at listening to our needs and coming up with solutions which ensures our websites are working most efficiently for us - this has included an events shop, download facilities and an interactive map of our site.
Most recently they have developed a system to facilitate the booking process for a summer scheme - a complex system which saved hours and hours of staff time! Thank you to all at Team Green17!!
